Waiting for a grid expansion

Over the years, we’ve seen a growing demand for cleaner alternatives, and together, we now handle projects for a wide range of businesses, from construction to hospitality. One such project took place at Hotel Luze Boutique, a luxury hotel in the seaside town of San Sebastián. Faced with a six-month wait for grid expansion, the hotel needed a solution to stay open without compromising the comfort their guests expected. That’s where we came in.
Sustainable power solution for hotels
To bridge the energy gap, Greener supplied two 422 kWh mobile batteries. One was connected to the existing 90A grid connection and a distribution box, which also linked to two generators (250 kVA and 300 kVA) and the second battery.
This intelligent load-sharing setup allowed all components to work in harmony, with the distribution box managing connections and Greener’s advanced Energy Management System (EMS) optimising power flow between grid, generators, and batteries.
Because the project took place at a hotel, noise reduction was a top priority. Our solution? Night mode.
In the evening, our EMS signals the generators to charge the batteries to the necessary level, then powers them down, allowing the batteries to take over silently throughout the night. Come morning, the EMS restarts the generators to recharge the batteries for the day ahead. This seamless switch ensures uninterrupted, quiet power without disturbing guests.
Saving emissions and costs
Night mode is just one of the many custom features we offer. In the case of Hotel Luze Boutique, it was essential. The combination of batteries, generators, and intelligent software meant we could deliver reliable, silent power, while also cutting fuel use, emissions, and noise.
