High-speed Charging in Portugal

To celebrate the launch of a brand-new electric vehicle, a two-week press event was held in Portugal. Journalists from around the world were invited to experience the EV first-hand: an innovative model known for its ultra-fast charging capabilities. To make this key selling point shine, SCHALL-E, a German company specialising in EV charging, was brought in to deliver the charging infrastructure.

SCHALL-E is renowned for its mobile high-power charging solutions, supporting OEMs from South Africa to the Arctic Circle. Wherever power is needed, SCHALL-E delivers, much like Greener Power Solutions.

For this project, SCHALL-E deployed their Alpitronic HYC 400 mobile charging unit. Typically capable of charging at 400 kW, the unit was specially upgraded to deliver 420 kW to match the EV’s maximum charging capacity. The goal? To demonstrate the car’s unique selling point: record-breaking fast charging.

However, to ensure the charger could consistently deliver full power, a reliable energy source was needed. Traditional generators weren’t an option for this sustainability-focused event. That’s where Greener came in.

Synchronised Charging at Full Power

To provide a clean and powerful energy supply, we combined two 422 kWh / 318 kVA Greener batteries with the upgraded Alpitronic charger. By synchronising the inverters of both batteries and the charger, we ensured a stable and uninterrupted 420 kW charging experience, day in, day out.

Throughout the event, SCHALL-E demonstrated the EV’s ultra-fast charging capabilities to the global press. Thanks to the seamless collaboration between our batteries and their mobile charging technology, the launch event delivered exactly what it promised: a powerful showcase of what this new EV can do.

“This battery-only solution not only met the technical demands but also aligned with the sustainable image of e-mobility. We’re proud of this successful collaboration and look forward to working together on future projects.”
