How green is the green energy in the batteries?
We prefer to charge our batteries with solar or wind energy or use an existing grid connection on-site.
In off-grid situations, we connect the batteries to a smaller diesel generator, preferably one running on biofuels.
Whatever the situation, we always choose the most sustainable solution that fits within the available options and budget. And if a diesel generator is really needed, you still save about 30-60% on diesel and reduce generator running hours by 80-90%. That’s how we make a difference!
How green are the batteries themselves?
Our lithium-ion batteries are developed by BMW as part of their strict sustainability programme. They last at least 10 years, are 95% recyclable, and all the metals used come from countries where there is no conflict or child labour.
Within the Netherlands, we transport the batteries using trucks running on HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil), which reduces CO2 emissions by 90%. Outside of the Netherlands we try to transport our batteries through e-trucks whenever we can. Additionally, we optimise our transport routes to limit the number of miles driven. This keeps us sustainable from start to finish!
How much CO2 do the batteries save?
The amount of CO2 we reduce depends on the situation. Our batteries work as a standalone power source or in combination with a grid connection or other energy sources, creating flexible, quiet, and sustainable solutions.
We provide sustainable solutions for events, construction sites, electric vehicle charging, load balancing, emergency power, rental companies, and shore power.
Ultimately, our solution makes diesel generators completely redundant. So far, we’ve saved over 9,700,000 litres of diesel, equating to more than 3,000,000 kg CO2 emissions saved.
What type of batteries does Greener use?
We use powerful mobile lithium-ion batteries of 422 kWh and 336 kWh, among the best in the sector, delivering 318 kVA of power. We also have a modular battery series of 281 kWh and 225 kVA, which you can combine up to a maximum of 1405 kWh.
These batteries are housed in sturdy 3-metre-long containers weighing 8000 kg, making them safe and easy to transport. Perfect for powering any site, anywhere! The modular batteries are 1981 x 1600 x 1164 mm and weigh only 3000 kg, making them transportable even with a forklift.
With over 200 batteries and a total capacity of 77 MWh, we have the largest battery set in the Netherlands and the largest fleet of mobile batteries in the world. This is how we make the energy transition easier and more accessible!
In which countries can Greener deliver?
We can deliver batteries anywhere. Sustainability has no borders, we say.
We’re currently active in the Netherlands, UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, and Switzerland, and expanding into more countries.
What’s so smart about Greener's software?
Our forecasting software uses the latest machine learning techniques to make smart, tailor-made forecasts based on previous projects. With the software, you can also easily integrate other energy sources with the battery.
Our Energy Management System monitors all batteries and other energy sources locally and remotely, giving you 24/7 access to your energy data.
With our dashboard, you can easily track your energy usage and trends, anytime, anywhere!
How safe are your batteries?
Greener holds ISO 9001 (quality management), 45001 (health & safety), 14001 (environmental management), and VCA (workplace safety) certifications.
Our battery system is designed with safety as the top priority. The system is housed in a 3-metre cooled container with air conditioning. All control systems are on the outside, and a security mechanism automatically and immediately shuts off all power when the container doors are opened.
The system is continuously monitored for overheating or unusual behaviour and will shut down safely if this occurs, sending an automatic warning via 3G (mobile) to everyone responsible for the system.
In case of emergency, the system can also be immediately shut down manually using an easy-to-spot stop switch located on the control interface at the side of the container.
