Three Greener batteries linked to deliver 1,270 kWh of power for peak shaving
For a major drinking water company in Beuningen, Mobilis, together with Hegeman Bouw & Infra, is constructing a new reservoir and a pumping and control building. The project strengthens the drinking water supply and prepares it for the future.
What makes this project special? The foundation piles are installed entirely electrically.
Electric piling with a limited grid connection
Foundation work typically requires a large amount of energy. In this project, the team chose to carry out the work electrically, using a converted Woltman 90 DR piling rig and an auxiliary crane from Voorbij Funderingstechniek.
However, electric piling comes with a high power demand: the installation requires 1,100 amps, while the available grid connection delivers only 125 amps. Without an additional power supply, it would have been impossible.
Battery storage as a solution for peak demand
To make it possible, Greener Power Solutions supplied three powerful mobile batteries. With a total storage capacity of 1,270 kWh, the batteries handled the peak loads during piling while continuously recharging via the grid connection.
For additional power and reliability, a low-emission generator from Bryntell was connected to the batteries. The system ran smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently without relying on traditional diesel generators and their emissions.
Emission-free foundation work
Thanks to this approach, the foundation work could be carried out fully electrically, a rare innovation for projects of this scale. In the first two weeks alone, over 10,000 litres of diesel were saved, while the operations ran smoothly without any power interruptions.
This project demonstrates how collaboration and smart energy solutions can create real impact. Greener is proud to work alongside forward-thinking companies to develop new, innovative solutions for a cleaner future.
