Forecasting your energy consumption and reporting on your actual energy usage are two key services we offer at Greener. With our software and by recording all data with energy meters, we can gain insight into your energy needs. This can be useful for later projects and to optimise energy supply and demand.

Forecasting energy demand and CO2 emissions

Before we set up the battery or batteries for your project, the first step is always to make a prognosis of your energy requirements. We go through this process together with you to work out which set-up is the best fit for you. By taking a close look at your energy needs, we can forecast how to best reduce your CO2 emissions and limit your diesel fuel usage. We use our smart algorithms, as well as the experience and examples of our past projects to deliver a suitable solution that best fits your energy profile.

For instance, your temporary energy supply set-up could include different power sources Including we can connect grid connections with solar or wind energy but can also link projects to diesel generators as a back-up. By forecasting the energy demand of all the different energy users, we can ensure that all devices work together perfectly.

Reporting and assessing the project performance

When working together with Greener Power Solutions, you will receive reports with all the data about your project. Through these reports, we can assess together whether your project is running according to plan, how much you save on emissions and diesel fuel and whether this data can be valuable for similar, future projects.

With our energy meters and the GreenerEye, which is the computer within the battery, we measure the energy consumption and various other indicators, such as the voltage per phase, reactive power, and many other metrices. Based on the data, we can then calculate savings and our software will visualise the data in graphics.

Some of the data regularly reported by Greener Power Solutions include:

  • Your energy consumption and peak consumption
  • Saved CO2 and nitrogen emissions
  • The amount of diesel fuel saved in litres
  • Saved running hours of generators

All savings are calculated compared to an average diesel generator delivering the same amount of energy. We also offer the option to measure your energy use with stand-alone energy meters. This is a service we offer for customers, who want to receive insights into their energy consumption when they don’t make use of one of our batteries.

With the gathered data, you can improve the planning of similar, future projects. Our reports provide key insights into how to improve energy consumption and reduce diesel fuel and CO2 emissions.

Four steps to achieving accurate forecasting

1. Intake meeting
We will have an intake with you about the set-up you are planning to use for your project and discuss how we can implement our battery power for optimal results. We will work together to explore your expectations and goals for the project.
2. Historical data and setup
We will ask you whether you have any historical data on past projects of similar size and purpose. If that is the case, we can base our predictions on that data. For this purpose, we model all power sources, as well as the energy users to achieve an accurate project performance overview.
3. Combination of historical and theoretical data
Together with any historical data, we use a theoretical energy consumption model, such as the power inventory by Powerplan to forecast your energy demand. The theoretical energy consumption is considered a guideline as it is not based on the actual energy users in your set-up but is based on past projects and general assumptions.
4. Your forecasting results
All the different data is fed into our forecasting software. Our software runs on internally developed algorithms and forecasts the energy that is consumed at your project. These forecasts are used by our software to run the batteries or other power generators most efficiently.
